Our Story
Creating ecoVINE has be a long time coming. The idea has been around for years but has only received attention sporadically. This is the third effort to bring it into existence in a meaningful way. This one will work. We don’t seem to have a choice.

What is different this time?

The breakthrough for us happened about a year ago when we decided that the idea was better as a non-profit organization than a for-profit. This decision was logical for a number of reasons.

First, the only two ways we could figure out to make money as a for-profit organization is through advertising or membership fees. Advertising has always been out because we don’t think true un-biased guidance can come with integrity if they are beside product and service promotions. The other option, membership fees, meant a very slow rollout which, at this point in time is not optimal.
Second, we don’t really care about profit. Of course, we want to build an organization that is sustainable but weI are not building a business to make excess profit. We are committed to people in the organization being paid fair wages, and even bonuses based on the organization’s performance, but growth of ownership capital is not important to us.
And the biggest reason for deciding to be a non-profit is that we thought we would have an easier time growing the organization through donations and grants. Large and small.
We are in the process of applying for ecoVINE to become a Federal 501(c)3. The length of the application approval is unknown.
